The Apostle Test

Rev 2:2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

For some reason it never occured to me what this verse is saying...try the apostles to see which are liars? How could that be? And how do we try the apostles?

By learning what the Bible says.

My first thought was that all the apostles were hand picked by YaHushua Himself...how could any be false? He doesn't make any mistakes, He is led by the Father, and the Father errors not!

Hmm, but what about Judas...but Judas wasn't a mistake he was part of the plan. It is true he wasn't a true apostle, but he was handpicked and used to accomplish the works of the YaHushua.

What purpose would it serve to place false apostles in the rest of the mix?

Well, we know that Satan has been cast out of heaven, and is wroth with the woman, and his goal is to make war with the remnant seed. It sounds like his goal is to use the seed of the remnant to war against the woman.

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of YHWH, and have the testimony of Yahushua the Messiah.

He does this with craft and wiliness, lies and deceit. To distort wisdom and cover her (yes wisdom is always referred to as a she) with error.

But we are given free will...and we are given the scriptures and all evidence of truth, and the promise of life in the kingdom for discerning right from wrong and choosing to do right. But that wouldn't be much of a test or of freewill if we weren't given the test and choice.

So first we are given 2/3 of the bible with info about the law and the prophets and many scenarios of the outcomes of good vs. bad. Then we are given gospels of 3 years of words and works of the Messiah. Oh and yes, then we are given 12 apostles 1 we are shown to be false and he hangs himself (Judas), which others are false apostles? how about the teachers we have around us today? And how do we discern the difference?

And then the test. What test? The test of freewill, do we follow man and his traditions? or the writings and teachings of YHWH. Which are the other false apostles? And how do we discern the difference? Start by making a list of the 12 apostles and getting to know their writings. I sure don't want to wait until judgement day to find out I didn't do my homework and followed misinformation! If you haven't already downloaded e-sword I highly recommend you do this and get use to this program as a study tool. So lets see what does the Word say?

What is the test of a true apostle?

The Scriptures will tell us so lets turn there. Hmmm, one problem here, if we are testing to see who is an apostle then, well, we will need to learn what YHWH wants and expects from us and from an apostle. No problem though, most of the bible was written before the apostles.

I think most of us know that that when we walk with YHWH we are meek and humble, not prideful or boastful. But here are few verses to show this point.

Num 12:3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)

Deu 8:2 And thou shalt remember all the way which YHWH thy Elohim led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. Deu 8:3 And he humbled thee...

Deu 8:16 Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;

2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2Ch 34:27 Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before Elohim, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith YHWH.

Job 22:29 When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.

Psa 10:2 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
Psa 10:3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom YHWH abhorreth.
Psa 10:4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after Elohim: Elohim is not in all his thoughts.

Psa 22:26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied:

Psa 25:9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

Psa 76:9 When Elohim arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.

Psa 147:6 YHWH lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

Psa 149:4 For YHWH taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Pro 8:13 The fear of YHWH is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Pro 13:10 Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.

Pro 14:3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

Pro 29:23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Zep 2:3 Seek ye YHWH, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of YHWH's anger.

oh and this is truly one of the best verses...

Jer 13:15 Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for YHWH hath spoken.

So what would you think if I write to you that you love me so much that you would have taken your own eye's out and given them to me if possible. Yuck! LOL, funny but I have heard someone say that, just a tad boastful isn't it. Many pastors today follow this unbelieveable model and spend much of their time boasting about what they are working on and who they have helped and how "greatly YHWH has blessed them", often this boasting is followed by an offering but even more subtle is when it is used to convince people to follow and believe what they are about to preach. But I want to follow the Messiah and I can't find a single example of Him boasting about Himself.

Pro 27:2 Let another man praise you, And not your own mouth – A stranger, and not your own lips.

truthful, not a liar

will have the fruits of the Spirit
will not have satan living inside them
does not sell the information given free from YHWH

For, not against the law or the prophets.

Jer 44:10 They are not humbled even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.

Psa_119:69, Psa_119:85,

Peaceable not argumentative
Willing to deny themselves for YaHushua
working as the workman worthy of his meat
Teaches the same Messiah that we are taught of in the gospels.
