the Rich 0 VS the Poor 1

This lesson is about how to handle wealth in a biblical manner.

Part one...you do not have to give everything you own to the church...BUT if you lie about how much you have given you are stealing from the Father in Heaven!

Act 5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
Act 5:2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
Act 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Spirit,
and to keep back part of the price of the land?
Act 5:4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto YHWH.
Act 5:5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the spirit: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

His wife came in and lied about the amount of money they had given too and she also fell down dead. What value is your life to YHWH if you need to lie to Him? Did they have to give everything? VS 4 says that it was in their own power, I believe that means they did not have to give everything, but since they said they were giving everything it was then wrong in holding part of the money back.

Deu 23:21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto YHWH thy Elohim, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for YHWH thy Elohim will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.
Deu 23:22 But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.
Deu 23:23 That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto YHWH thy Elohim, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.

How does the Bible view money?

1Ti 6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
1Ti 6:11 But thou, O man of YHWH, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, reverence, faith, love, patience, meekness.

Riches drown men in destruction and perdition. But also notice in verse 10, you don't have to be rich, coveting after it will also cause sorrow.

If you are rich it is a your duty to give to the poor. This has got to be a hard one for many to swollow. For the poor haven't had the luxuries that the rich would have to give up, and the poor have seen the blessings that YHWH can provide, they have learned to live by faith in a way the rich do not know. The rich however, depend on their money to tend to their needs and desires, as well as a sense of power and control, whether or not they admit it. Money becomes their god.

Luk 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve YHWH and mammon, [wealth].
Luk 16:14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
Luk 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but YHWH knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of YHWH.

Why do I say it is the duty of the rich to lend to the poor...because it is written.

Deu 15:7 If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which YHWH thy Elohim giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:
Deu 15:8 But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth.

These verse speak for themselves...

Mat 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of Elohim.

Psa 49:16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
Psa 49:17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
Psa 49:18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.
Psa 49:19 He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.
Psa 49:20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

Pro 18:10 The name of YHWH is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Pro 18:11 The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.

Pro 13:7 There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.

Pro 23:4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.

Mat 19:20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
Mat 19:21 Yahushua said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Mat 19:22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
Mat 19:23 Then said Yahushua unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of Elohim.

Luk 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
Luk 6:23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
Luk 6:24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
Luk 6:25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
Luk 6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Luk 12:21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward YHWH.

Luk 14:11 For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Luk 14:12 Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.
Luk 14:13 But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
Luk 14:14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
Luk 14:15 And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of YHWH.

Luke 16:19-31
the story of the rich man and Lazarus.

2Co 8:9 For ye know the favour of our Master Yahushua the Messiah, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

1Ti 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living Elohim, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
1Ti 6:18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate [share];

Jas 1:9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
Jas 1:10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
Jas 1:11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the favour of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which YHWH hath promised to them that love him.
Jas 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of YHWH: for YHWH cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Jas 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Jas 1:16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

Jas 5:1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.

What about those who got their gains in a way that was not righteous?

Some jobs that are technically legal here just aren't legal with YHWH. Jobs such as being a lawyer for one or possibly an unfair merchant...or a car salesmen who even in worldy terms is not a trustworthy profession. Any job where you have had to act in a way that you cheated, lied, or acted unrighteously. In that case, see Luke 19

It would be best to chose a career that glorifies YHWH.
