Feasts - Biblical Holy Days

The Feasts of the bible paint a beautiful picture of the message the Father has been trying to tell us. To come out of the world, set ourselves apart, to worship and prepare for him, and when the harvest...His church, is ready He will return and gather us to gather for that Last Great Day those that are worthy join Him in His kingdom!

There are 7 Feasts that we are to recognize as children of YHWH.

Lev 23:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of YHWH, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

3 of those Feasts the men are commanded to come together each year, Unleavened Bread, Pentecost (First Fruits), and Feast of Tabernacles.

Exo 23:14 Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.
Exo 23:15 Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month of the aviv; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)
Exo 23:16 And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.
Exo 23:17 Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before YHWH Elohim.

Exo 34:22 And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.
Exo 34:23 Thrice in the year shall all your men children appear before the Master YHWH, the Elohim of Israel.

Deu 16:16 Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before YHWH thy Elohim in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before YHWH empty:

These feast command the men to gather but also include all the children of YHWH.

Deu 16:11 And thou shalt rejoice before YHWH thy Elohim, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which YHWH thy Elohim hath chosen to place his name there.

It is exciting to see how each year there are more and more people learning of the Feasts and the sights to go and celebrate these Feasts multiply each year. Choosing the right one to attend is important. Not all Feasts are the same and we need to watch for the wolf in sheep's clothing. The Bible states there are three prerequisites to choosing which Feast location to attend.
  1. Where YHWH has placed his name
  2. Where the statutes are followed
  3. Where it is in the right time.

#2 and #3 just take a little research to see if the group agrees with what the Bible says, and point #1 takes prayer and hearing His leading. When those three criteria are met the Feast experience is so rich, so wonderful, it is such a blessing...I don't think I can describe it as I never felt anything so uplifting until I had experienced it.

On the other hand when they are not met I have heard stories that make me wonder why the people didn't just get up and leave...which is a much better choice than realizing you are at the wrong one and sticking it out. Worse yet are those Feasts where people have tried to ignore the horror around them and call the event a blessing. I don't mean to sound scary here...but these are important lessons that test our hearts.

One example, and warning is the site, Eliyah.com. Tom, (web site owner who calls himself Eliyah), puts on a Feast of Tabernacles usually in Eminence, MO. Although, his feast was in the wrong time, and he has been known to have some odd beliefs, and there has been much warnings spread about him, and his deceptions, and his family falling apart, and his belief in needing to assign members to "police" it, despite these and other warnings, many still attended. Most because they had friends they had met through his website and they were willing to turn a blind eye to the warnings. During the feast there was brawling, drunkenness, illness, and terrible injury, (one girl broke her ankle in two locations)...and yet as I was given the report the person ended by saying..."but it was a blessed time". If that was a blessing what would they consider a warning!

With that said...I would like to repeat that a Feast that carries YHWH's name...meaning He is the overseer, will truly be a blessing beyond description! It is all about Him bringing together those with a true heart of Love toward the Father. And when hearts are filled with Love toward the Father in Heaven...the Father protects and blesses the people.

As for each Feast, take your time studying each Feast, we study them yearly and learn more about them each time. They have many layers of meanings, that reveal themselves, line upon line, precept upon precept. To start with, see the bible references indicated below. In the future, additional pages will be added as I complete them, for a deeper understanding of each Holy day. Feel free to use the comment box at the bottom for any comments or open discussion.
